Dive into this extraordinary workshop exploring the vast Pacific Northwest landscape through the magic of mixed media collage. Oregon painter, Judy Vogland,  will bring her trusty secrets and bag of tricks to help you explore surface building with paint, handmade paper, cardboard, museum board, wood, clay slip, transfers, found objects and more. Students will learn composition, design elements, unconventional perspectives, color relationships, creative thinking skills, paper clay/porcelain slip techniques for surface building… all to die for!

Over a 4 day/full day  (9-4) intensive workshop, students will complete 3 large landscape based artworks built on substrates (birch panels) or stretched canvas. This exciting and energeticfocusproduces unique landscape pieces that are frame-able and a treasure for a lifetime. This process will help students to work in a variety of directions that inform and enrich their studio experiences. It will especially serve the kind of student who already has acrylic paint supplies who wants to expand how they work on new surfaces. With many years of teaching studio intensive landscape collage, Judy Vogland would enjoy bringing this workshop to Richland.
